Tania Casselle writes a great little monthly column each month in the  Santa Fe news magazine, Local Flavor. Each month, she features a different Taos character...yes, aren't we all here. ;-) and it being Indian Market this month, she featured two local Native Americans, Blue Spruce Standing Deer and yep, the other being our very own,  Daniel Pretends Eagle.

A fun little story...Daniel and I were checking into a motel in Santa Fe and it was taking a while..so  I picked up the Local Flavor magazine & forgot that article about Dan was in it, I turned to the page & when "Oh! That's you!" & the guy behind us reading the same magazine, said "I just said the same thing to myself about him!". He was a massage therapist from Tucson, who was also a martial artist, we became friends...love how that all works...

End of summer is nigh....sigh...

It's been a fun summer of music, good friends, good times &  beautiful settings that contain them all! We'll be  finishing off the summer in a another beautiful place  on Labor Day weekend in Manitou Springs playing at the Commonwheel Festival. Last year we got burned out from playing in Colorado Springs because of the fires and this year, sad to say....Manitou Springs (right next to CS) got hit with the flood of all floods! and the park is a muddy mess.  But  they're moving the event up to higher ground to The Fields Park.....we love Manitou Springs & the spirit of the residents that keeps it alive &  kicking through challenging times like this. So we're looking foward to sharing our music with them & you! if you're nearby...come on up!

 

Dog Days of Summer IV

It's the dog days of summer...which means...it's time for the 4th Annual Dog Days of Summer Music Fest & Art Benefit for Stray Hearts Animal Shelter! If you haven't been to one, now is the time, THE event of the summer in Taos! 3 Bands!  Alpha Rev from Austin, Tx, Bone Orchard, and  Fear No Art.
