Happy 2012 and here we all are..

Well, here we are in 2012..and nice to be here. We're kicking off the New Year with shows in Taos, Colorado and Santa Fe, come see us if you're in the area.

And looking to have that cd we started recording live at KTAOS in Nov out this spring. We're gonna do another live recording at Turnstyle Gallery, this time with our full band AND special guest, Mark Dudrow on Cello. Last time we did this lineup at TurnStyle Gallery in the fall, so many people told us how magical it was, we decided to do it again and record it this time. Then we'll take the recordings into our studio and, hopefully!, continue the magic in there. See you out there somewhere!

The Bone Orchard Traveling Medicine Show

It's our favorite time of year....Halloween! and this year we're creating the Bone Orchard Traveling Medicine Show with two shows...Friday Oct. 28th at Wildwood Sounds in Del Norte, Co. www.wildwoodsounds.com If you haven't been to this venue, check it out, Stephen and Konnie have turned an old American Legion Hall into fantastic music venue that's been holding it's own for many years now. AND our 10th year doing the Historic Taos Inn Halloween Bash hosted by Michael Dean of KKIT The Mountain radio. New songs and we can't wait to see you as you really are, so come dressed! in costume, we should say.

Yep...Halloween and the annual Bone Orchard shows. Oct. 28th in Del Norte, Co at Wildwood Sounds Concerts and then yep, you got it, our 10th year playing the Annual Halloween party at the Adobe Bar at the Historic Taos Inn. Wild costumes, wild night. we love it! But first we're in Santa Fe, then Colorado, then back to Taos... check out the shows on the show page.

Night of the Shooting Stars

Picture this:

A Rocky Mountain meadow with musican’s on an outdoor stage illuminated only by kerosene lanterns, a sky full of stars with a half moon hanging overhead. Partiers reveling and dancing into the night. A bonfire, sparks flying high. This is the evening we just experienced…magic....pure magic....and we were fully in the zone, along with everyone else there.

Thanks Linda Gibas, for having us up to play a party in the Colorado Rockies not soon to be forgotten. Many a magical time I’ve experienced in my many years of performing...this one ranks right up there, down to the falling star we saw at the end of the night, trailing almost all the way to earth...Divine...

Look for an upcoming house concert in Denver resulting from this. We'll keep ya posted.

Benefit Weekend!

Yes, it's a full on playing the Benefit weekend. But we're glad to help out. First, it's June 11th Saturday afternoon into the eve at Wildwood Sounds in Del Norte, Colorado with two stages and lot's of great music and food. Wildwood Sounds is a wonderful music venue and a major supporter of music these many past years and they need some financial assistance. Check it out, get directions at www.wildwoodsounds.com

finally, spring has really arrived and the howling winds of Taos have stopped blowing...for the moment....got some gigs comin' up....feeling good and workin' out some new songs. Taking a short break from playin' and getting some life stuff done and some new songs learned.A fun thing...someone is writing a screenplay based on one of our original songs "Cowgirls Ate My Mother"....sort of a Quentin Tarantino style....but as I've said, having grown up in Los Angeles, " nothin's happened until it's in the can...and even then". But it's a fun idea and I'll look forward to reading it and you never know....

Holidays and House Concerts and Facebook

Well, we've done a lot over the last month and 1/2 and it's not all been related to music.

Dan passed his State Board Exam for massage and I finished and showed my dress design for a Baroque Deconstructed Fashion Show held in early Dec. (check out my facebook page for photos at Carol Morgan Eagle) ......well, music and fashion........and massage have always gone together. So it's the holiday season and when we get through this.... I mean after we celebrate this glorious time.....then it's back to creating new opportunities for 2011. We're planning to do a small series of House Concerts in Los Angeles in April. If you're interested in attending one...OR have a recommendation of a House Concert there, please email us at boneorchard_music@hotmail.com

Hiya everyone~!
Well we had such a great Halloween experience as usual, two weekends in a row!
First, Wildwood Sounds in Colorado and then our 9th annual Adobe Bar at the Historic Taos Inn Halloween event.Fantastic costumes and packed house to the gills. So much fun!! Thanks everyone who came out and made it such a fabulous night.
We're gonna take a little break, recoup and then get back to the recording again. In the meantime, Dan & I did a nice little radio interview w/ Luciano on Freeform KUNM radio 89.9 FM out of Albuquerque. It will be rebroadcast Sat. Nov. 6th 7PM on "Ear to the Ground". Please tune and give a listen. And as always, we love hearing from you if you'd like to drop us an email and say hi.

Yes, it's time for our annual Halloween shows. And time to start thinking of that perfect costume or as I like to say... your alter ego.
First, Oct. 23rd at Wildwood Sounds Concerts in Del Norte, Colorado. Stephan and Konnie have created a beautiful venue with great acoustics just for music....and a wooden floor with room for dancing
And on Oct. 30th, it's our 8th annual Halloween Show at the Adobe Bar at the Historic Taos Inn. This is THE party event of the season. But get there early as you KNOW how PACKED it gets. Last year, on my break, I had to go out the back door to get to the front of the place! We can't wait to see the fabulous costumes this year. See you then!

Huckleberry Flies Free

Yep, the time came for Huckleberry to leave this earth. He was a good friend and we miss him dearly, he came to every gig with us and afterwards would cruise the floors for french fries. He had a great time. But ahhh....such is life....as Ned Kelly, the famous Australian outlaw, said on his way to be hanged.
Dan is finishing up his clinicals for massage therapy on, get this, Fridays and Saturdays. Not exactly fitting in with the schedule of a musician..but he'll be finished by the end of July and then we'll be able to start playing more and finally do that new cd we need to be doing! It's been an "interesting" (best word I can think of that I can actually write here) year so far, I know it has for most of you as well. Just gotta take it as it comes and hopefully come out the other side all in one piece! Hope to see you at one of our shows soon!

Summer on it's way....enjoy life

Ahhhh...Memorial Day weekend. Summer's on it's way and well if the living ain't easy...well at least it's livin'. I hear the Harley's down below on their way to the Red River Motorcycle Rally. Huckleberry...well he's slowing down and we think his time might be coming soon, but for now we're just glad to be hangin' on the front porch with him, listening to crickets and harleys, playing some music and well... this is life....
We got some gigs coming up but still we're layin' low for the moment. Dan back in school on Tuesday until end of July and well..like I said Huckleberry with us for now..but maybe not for long...so we're taking it easy until the time is right. Come see us when we do play, we look forward to seeing you... and enjoy life..it's a gift.

Well that was intense, but the chemo's working and Huckleberry is doing alot better.
So we're back to booking gigs and playing some music. Yea! We've got some new songs, including one called "Shotgun Mind" that Dan just wrote. It's got a story behind it as they all do, so you'll just have to come to a gig and hear it. Dan's in school right now so we won't be playing as much as I'd like but it's all for a good future with more opportunity. And he'll be finished at the end of summer. Thanks for your kind thoughts and emails about Huckleberry. I also have heard from several people that it's complicated to post comments, I'll check it out with our web designer. We hope to see you somewhere soon.

Well...as John Lennon so eloquently put it, "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans". We thought we were going to record this past month, and we did get "Guns For San Sebastian" down, but then sadly our Lab/Husky developed a fast aggressive cancer and we find that our lives have been taken up with this. As of now, Huckleberry is still with us, we don't know for how long, but at this point we're holding off booking and recording just for a moment, until we see where we're headed with this. So hang on, we'll be back soon and we'll at least get "Guns for San Sebastian" up as soon as it's mixed down. Send good thoughts for Huckleberry.

We'll be recording some new songs in the next month, so we're just taking a short break from gigs. We're hoping to have some new tunes up on our website by end of January. We'll see how that goes ;> In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday season. Personally, I can't wait until we get on the other side of the solstice. Let's get back towards the light!

Well that was a blast. I've never seen so many people in the Adobe Bar and did we have a rockin' good time! Couldn't see past the wall of dancers in front of us, but we know there were some great costumes there. Thanks all for coming out and making it a night to remember.
